Dercy dos Santos

Dercy dos Santos is a representative of the Saberes e Sabores de Djarmai cooperative, which consists of 13 women dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods through the production of sweets and liqueurs in Maio, Cape Verde. Recently, she announced the inauguration of a new production unit in Porto Inglês, fulfilling a long-held dream of the cooperative members to establish their own business. Under her leadership, the cooperative aims to supply local markets and expand to other islands, showcasing local ingredients like banana and papaya. Dercy emphasizes the importance of economic inclusion for women, particularly in marginalized communities, and seeks ongoing support for sustainable development initiatives.
