Diane Baumann is a Christchurch fraudster who used a stranger's driver’s license to unlawfully claim approximately $30,000 in benefits while simultaneously receiving payments from a nursing company. Her deceptive actions included creating a fictitious carer and opening several accounts under the victim's name, ultimately leading to significant financial distress for the victim. Baumann, who has a history of theft and deception, was sentenced to six months of home detention and ordered to pay reparations.
