Dimitrij Georgi Popović

Dimitrij Georgi Popović was an influential Macedonian representative during the late 17th century who played a crucial role in the diplomatic efforts to secure support from the Holy Roman Empire against Ottoman oppression. Alongside Marko Krajda, he presented the Macedonian plea for recognition and protection, which led to the granting of a privilege by Emperor Leopold I, acknowledging the Macedonian nation as a distinct group deserving of rights and support in their fight for freedom.
