Dimitrios Ioannidis
Dimitrios Ioannidis was a Greek military officer and politician, known for his role in the Greek military junta from 1967 to 1974. He served as the de facto leader of Greece during the later years of the dictatorship and was instrumental in various political decisions, including the invasion of Cyprus. His beliefs and actions during this tumultuous period have often been scrutinized, particularly his conviction that military intervention could swiftly change the course of events in the region. Following the fall of the junta, Ioannidis was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in the regime.
