Dina Fernández is a Guatemalan journalist turned fiction writer, known for her debut collection of short stories titled 'Monstruos y pájaros.' After more than thirty years in journalism, primarily at Prensa Libre, she transitioned to fiction to fulfill her lifelong dream of storytelling. The collection, which explores contemporary Guatemalan society, highlights themes of power and violence, often within familial settings. Her journey into fiction began during the pandemic, where she transformed her journalistic voice to create deeply personal narratives that reflect both darkness and resilience.
