Diogo Costa Cangerana is a captain in the São Paulo Military Police who has been implicated in a significant money laundering and currency evasion scheme led by Chinese businessman Tao Li. Investigations by the Federal Police (PF) suggest that from 2021 to 2024, Cangerana played a crucial role in facilitating illegal financial activities, including the laundering of money through cryptocurrency and the illicit trade of gold to Dubai. He allegedly assisted in setting up shell companies and corrupting bank managers to ease transactions, while also being linked to a list of bribes. Cangerana has denied the allegations and claims his innocence amid ongoing legal scrutiny.
