Dmitry Plaks

Dmitry Plaks is a Belarusian director and translator currently based in Sweden. He has gained recognition for his work in theater, particularly for his efforts to bring attention to Belarusian issues on the European stage. Plaks is known for his adaptations of significant literary works, including his recent production based on the text by Alherd Bakharevich, 'Ploshcha Peramohi.' He is also a father who has faced personal tragedy, having lost his older son, Peter, to violence in 2019. Plaks uses his experiences to inform his artistic endeavors and advocacy for social justice.
