Dmytro Balabuha

Dmytro Balabuha is a 34-year-old Ukrainian tank commander who, following a tumultuous past that included serving as a volunteer officer in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in 2014, found himself imprisoned during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Previously sentenced to nine years for a tragic incident in 2018, Balabuha's life took a dramatic turn when he was released from prison to lead a tank company in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, showcasing his expertise in modern tank warfare and tactical operations against Russian forces.
