Dochi Shonin

Dochi Shonin was a Buddhist priest credited with the discovery of the onsen at Kinosaki, Japan, over 1300 years ago. His dedication to helping the townspeople led him to pray for 1000 days, after which he is said to have witnessed the emergence of healing waters that would form the basis of the town's famous hot springs.
