Domènec de Guzmán, also known as Saint Dominic, was a Spanish priest and the founder of the Dominican Order in the early 13th century. He is best known for his efforts to combat the Cathar heresy through preaching and theological debate, notably participating in the colloquy of Montreal, where he represented the Catholic Church in discussions with Cathar leaders.
