Domingo Decena

Domingo Decena is a 48-year-old motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) driver living in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He supports his family while navigating the challenges and dangers of his profession, often working long hours without a stable income. Decena took up this job in 1999 as a means to earn a reliable living after dropping out of school at 13. He transports local residents and sometimes tourists, handling various errands for his customers. Although he dreams of upgrading to a car taxi for better safety and comfort, financial constraints make this aspiration difficult to achieve.
