Dominique Désiré Erenon

Dominique Désiré Erenon is a prominent Central African politician and leader of the March for Democracy and the People's Salvation (MDSP) party. A former constitutional expert and lecturer at the University of Bangui, Erenon has been a vocal critic of the government led by President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, particularly opposing constitutional reforms that increased presidential powers. After fleeing to France in 2022 due to threats against his safety, he returned to the Central African Republic in response to a call from the president for citizens in the diaspora to come home. However, upon his arrival at the airport, he was detained by security officials, raising concerns about political repression and intimidation in the lead-up to upcoming elections.
