Dona Nair

Dona Nair, born Alda Pereira Neves, was a beloved matriarch and the mother of José Maria Neves, the President of Cape Verde. She passed away on July 19, 2023, at the age of 99, just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Renowned for her strength and resilience, she raised her four children as a single mother, overcoming numerous challenges and making significant sacrifices throughout her life. Her legacy of love and dedication is cherished by her family, which includes 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
