Dorđe Simion
Dorđe Simion (38) is a prominent Romanian far-right extremist and historian who began his political career as an activist advocating for the unification of Romania and Moldova among Bucharest's football hooligans. He founded the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians (AUR) in 2019, which gained significant political traction, becoming the second strongest party in the Romanian parliament with around 18 percent of the vote in the December 2024 elections. Known for his aggressive behavior and physical altercations in parliament, Simion has made headlines for his controversial statements and connections to Russian ultranationalists. During the recent election campaign, he presented a calmer image while positioning himself as a supporter of Trump and a defender of Romanian democracy, despite his skepticism towards the EU and NATO.
