Douglas Freshfield

Douglas Freshfield (1845–1934) was a notable British mountaineer and explorer celebrated for his pioneering expeditions in the Himalayas. He was instrumental in leading the first circumnavigation of Kanchenjunga in 1899, during which he collaborated with Vittorio Sella, whose photographs captured the breathtaking beauty of the region.
