Dr. Adey Miriam Omudele-Lusian

Dr. Adey Miriam Omudele-Lusian is a 40-year-old emergency medicine specialist at Sheba Medical Center in Israel. Born in Berkeley, California, to a Jewish American father and an African American mother, she spent part of her childhood in Japan. After returning to the United States, she faced a complex identity crisis due to her mixed heritage. She pursued medical anthropology at the University of Chicago and later studied medicine at St. George's University in London. She moved to Israel in 2015 and decided to make Aliyah, embracing her identity as a Jewish Israeli. Dr. Omudele-Lusian has spoken about the challenges she faces in her professional life due to her appearance, often being mistaken for support staff rather than a physician. She is engaged to Tomer, an Israeli soldier, and is looking forward to her upcoming wedding.
