Dr Jane Mwandupe

Dr Jane Mwandupe is a veterinary specialist with the Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa), known for her expertise in the conservation and health of chimpanzees at Gombe National Park. She has been instrumental in monitoring the declining chimpanzee population, which has fallen by nearly 50 percent since the 1960s, and has highlighted the impacts of disease and habitat pressures on these primates.
