Dr. Jide Idris is the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), and he was in the news for overseeing the rapid response to a meningitis outbreak in Nigeria, which has resulted in 807 suspected cases and 74 deaths across 22 states as of March 26, 2025.
