Dries van Agt

Dries van Agt is a Dutch politician and physician who served as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1977 to 1982. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), van Agt has been a notable figure in Dutch politics and is known for his progressive views on various social issues, including the legalization of euthanasia. He and his wife, Eugenie Krekelberg, made headlines in 2024 when they chose to end their lives together through euthanasia after decades of health struggles.
