Dušanka Kalanj

Dušanka Kalanj was a prominent Serbian television presenter, born on October 10, 1934, in Šibenik. She became a household name in the 1950s as the first anchor of 'TV Dnevnik,' the news program of Yugoslav television, captivating audiences with her beauty and exceptional diction. Her career spanned several decades, and she was respected for her professionalism and ability to connect with viewers. Kalanj survived the tragic bombing of the RTS building in 1999, which claimed the lives of 16 colleagues, marking a dark chapter in her life. She remained a beloved figure in the media until her passing on March 12, 2010.
