Dylan Kiriona

Dylan Kiriona is a teacher at Horowhenua College who was recently in the news for being formally censured after a serious incident involving a trailer carrying 15 students which flipped, resulting in injuries to multiple students. Although he faced charges of careless driving, he was discharged without conviction in 2023. The Teachers’ Disciplinary Tribunal found his actions to be serious misconduct, indicating a significant lapse in judgment regarding student safety, but ultimately decided against cancelling his teaching registration, citing community support and the nature of the incident as factors.
