Edie McGuinness

Edie McGuinness was a 21-year-old woman from Malahide, Co Dublin, who tragically died by suicide on October 20, 2023, after being discharged from the Mater Hospital. Diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder and autism, Edie had a history of self-harm and suicidal ideation and had been receiving psychological support since her early teens. Her case highlighted critical concerns regarding mental health care and the challenges faced by individuals in crisis.
