Edison Tsung Chi Hsueh

Edison Tsung Chi Hsueh was a medical student at the University of São Paulo whose tragic death in 1999 during a violent initiation ritual known as 'trote' led to widespread outrage and prompted the university to prohibit such practices. He drowned in a pool after being forcibly thrown in by senior students despite expressing that he could not swim, highlighting the dangers of hazing rituals in academic settings.
