Édison Washington Prado Álava, known by his alias 'Gerald', is a notorious Ecuadorian drug lord who was extradited to the United States in 2018 for his involvement in the trafficking of over 250 tons of cocaine. He was captured in Colombia after being lured by an undercover agent and has since been referred to as the 'Pablo Escobar of Ecuador'. Following his extradition, he was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison but has sought to reduce his sentence due to health issues.
