Edit Njut was a pioneering nurse and the first director of the Medical School in Zvezdara, Belgrade, established in 1921 to train local nursing staff. A student of Florence Nightingale, she played a crucial role in the development of nursing education in the Balkans, continuing the legacy of her mentor by promoting high standards in nursing practice.
