Edmund Garvey

Edmund Garvey is a former provincial of the Christian Brothers who, in 1998, issued a public apology to victims of abuse within the organization, acknowledging their suffering. However, he later initiated a controversial strategy to avoid legal accountability by refusing to nominate a representative for the congregation, a tactic that has been criticized for its moral implications and for prolonging the suffering of abuse survivors.
