Edvin is a 72-year-old chess enthusiast from Kosovo who has been a regular at the chess fields in Zurich Oerlikon for two decades. Known for his jovial personality and willingness to engage with newcomers, he sees chess as a way to escape life's difficulties, stating, 'When I play chess, I forget everything. Even my pains.' Edvin's journey to Switzerland began in 1977 as a seasonal worker, and he later became a bus driver. He fosters a sense of community among fellow players, often inviting them for coffee and helping to create a welcoming atmosphere at the chess fields.
