Edward Mowery

Edward Mowery, a 55-year-old resident of New Mexico, has battled excruciating chronic pain for years, stemming from a condition known as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) that developed after a routine knee replacement surgery. After enduring 34 surgeries and a range of ineffective pain medications, Mowery found hope through a pioneering deep brain stimulation trial at the University of California San Francisco, which significantly reduced his pain and allowed him to return to daily activities, including playing guitar. His journey has made him an advocate for innovative pain management solutions, and he has testified before Congress about the transformative potential of such medical research.
