Efrat Butzer

Efrat Butzer is an archaeologist associated with the Center for Jerusalem Studies. She has been involved in significant archaeological excavations in the City of David, where a rare gold coin depicting Queen Berenice II was recently discovered. Her work aims to illuminate the historical context of Jerusalem, particularly during the Ptolemaic era, and challenges previous perceptions of the city's development after the destruction of the First Temple.
