Egon Coordes

Egon Coordes was a prominent German football coach and former player, best known for his role as an assistant coach at FC Bayern Munich, where he helped the team secure four Bundesliga championships in the late 1980s and early 1990s alongside renowned managers Udo Lattek and Jupp Heynckes. Born in Bremerhaven, he began his career as a player, making 157 appearances in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart before transitioning to coaching. Throughout his career, Coordes held various coaching positions, including stints in Austria, Switzerland, and the Middle East, though his head coaching roles in the Bundesliga were less successful. He passed away at the age of 80 after a long illness, as confirmed by his family.
