Eibhlin Cassidy
Eibhlin Cassidy is an Irish artisan and entrepreneur who founded the slow fashion brand Hilo in Cusco, Peru, in 2003. Originally from Fermanagh, she studied ceramics and was inspired to travel after her education. Despite a life-changing accident that ended her ceramics career, Cassidy embraced the vibrant culture of Cusco, leading her to create unique clothing from second-hand materials. Hilo has become renowned for its colorful and original designs, utilizing locally sourced fabrics and natural dyes from the Sacred Valley. Her success has also allowed her to contribute to community projects and design costumes for major films.
