Dr. Eknath Chitnis was a prominent Indian scientist and a pivotal figure in the establishment of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Born in 1923, he dedicated his career to advancing India's capabilities in space technology and communication. He played a crucial role in the development of the country’s first telecommunication satellite, INSAT, which significantly enhanced communication infrastructure in India. For his contributions to science and technology, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1985. Dr. Chitnis passed away at the age of 100, leaving behind a legacy as a visionary leader in India's scientific community.
