Elaine Steinbeck

Elaine Steinbeck was the third wife of renowned American author John Steinbeck, celebrated for his classic works such as 'The Grapes of Wrath' and 'Of Mice and Men.' After their marriage in 1943, Elaine played a significant role in John’s life and career, often serving as his confidante and editor. Following Steinbeck's death in 1968, she dedicated herself to preserving his literary legacy and promoting his works. Elaine remained active in literary circles until her own passing in 2003, and her home with John in Sag Harbor is now a writer’s center, reflecting their shared passion for literature.
