Eliahu Saadon was a prominent political figure in early Israeli politics, known for his role as a supporter of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. After immigrating from Benghazi, Libya, he distinguished himself as a robust and charismatic presence during political rallies, often tasked with maintaining order amidst the fervor of political debates. Nicknamed 'the commander of the boxing squad of Mapai,' Saadon became infamous for his aggressive tactics, which included shouting down opponents and rallying crowds in support of Ben-Gurion from 1955 until the latter's retirement in 1963.
