Eliecer Machín

Eliecer Machín is a 60-year-old thermophysicist who was involved in the construction of Cuba's abandoned nuclear power plant in the 1980s. Educated in the former Soviet Union, he reflects on the impact of the project's cancellation in 1992, which he describes as a significant disappointment for many involved. Now living near the site, he continues to express his passion for science while adapting to life in a changing Cuba.
