Elijud Kipčoge

Elijud Kipčoge is a Kenyan long-distance runner and widely regarded as one of the greatest marathoners of all time. He holds the official world record for the marathon, set in 2018 with a time of 2:01:39, and famously broke the two-hour barrier in a special event in 2019, clocking 1:59:40, although this time is not recognized as an official record due to the conditions under which it was achieved. Kipchoge's remarkable career and consistent performances have made him a key figure in athletics, inspiring many in the sport.
