Elisabeth Margaret Welch

Elisabeth Welch was an American singer, actress, and artist whose career spanned seven decades, best known for her performances of songs like 'Stormy Weather' and 'Love for Sale'. Although born in New York City, she spent much of her career in the UK, gaining fame in the 1920s and continuing to perform until the late 20th century.
