Elizabeth Spence

Elizabeth Spence is a member of the Fort Albany First Nation who has been actively advocating for the preservation of the Albany River. She has spent significant time traveling along the river with her family, observing the changes and challenges it faces, including low water levels and rapid algae growth. During a community meeting, she poignantly expressed the deep concern of her community, stating, 'Our river is half gone,' highlighting the impact of environmental changes on their traditional way of life.
