Ellen Obiri

Ellen Obiri is a renowned Kenyan long-distance runner, celebrated for her achievements in both track and road racing. She is a two-time world champion in the 5000 meters and has secured numerous titles in various international competitions. Obiri's remarkable speed and endurance have made her a formidable presence in women's distance events. In the recent 2025 Boston Marathon, she finished as the runner-up, just 19 seconds behind the winner, Sharon Lokedi, while attempting to become the first woman to win three consecutive Boston Marathons since Fatuma Roba in the late 1990s.
