Emil Guðmundsson

Emil Guðmundsson was a prominent figure in Icelandic tourism, known for his long tenure as the manager of Hotel Loftleiða and his influential role in the development of international aviation in Iceland. Born on July 31, 1933, in Akranes, Emil contributed significantly to the travel industry, organizing trips to the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Denmark, and serving as a regional manager for Flugleiðir. He was also actively involved in social initiatives, including the founding of the Icelandic Skötufélag, which hosts an annual traditional feast. Emil passed away at the age of 91 on April 11, 2023.
