Emiliano Tizapa

Emiliano Tizapa is a journalist and one of the directors of the news platform El Tlacolol in Chilpancingo, Guerrero. Recently, he was in the news for being involved in a dispute with the Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) over accusations of political violence against the media outlet, which the INE claims was involved in inducing votes during recent judicial elections. Tizapa and his colleagues have defended their reporting as a commitment to freedom of expression and have labeled the accusations as attempts to censor critical journalism.
