Emilie König
Emilie König is a French woman born in 1994 in Lorient, known for her involvement with the Islamic State group (IS). After a gradual radicalization, she moved to Syria in 2012, where she became a recruiter, matchmaker, and propagandist for IS, which led to her designation by the UN as one of the most dangerous fighters. Following her arrest by Kurdish forces in 2017, she was held in a jihadist prisoner camp. In July 2022, she was repatriated to France along with other French women and children. Currently, she faces prosecution for her actions during her time with IS, particularly for remaining in the region during severe atrocities and for her role in promoting the extremist ideology.
