Emilio Oribe
Emilio Oribe was a Uruguayan poet and essayist known for his vanguardist approach to literature. He served as the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences and was a member of the Academy of Letters. Oribe was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970 by Uruguayan lawyer Sarah Bollo but ultimately lost to Russian writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
