Emily Felix, a 28-year-old woman from County Kilkenny, has been living with Friedreich's ataxia, a rare progressive neuromuscular disease, since her diagnosis at the age of 12. Fully reliant on a wheelchair, she requires assistance for nearly all daily activities. Felix is currently suing the Health Service Executive (HSE) for delays in approving the drug omaveloxolone, which has the potential to slow the progression of her condition. She is also a professional working at the Central Bank of Ireland and is studying to become a solicitor.
