Emmanuel Kwakye Asare

Emmanuel Kwakye Asare is a broadcast journalist known for hosting the program Nsempafie on Wontumi Radio. Recently, he has been in the news after being granted bail of GH¢100,000 by an Accra Circuit Court over alleged false claims he made regarding a helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025. During a live broadcast, Asare controversially suggested that former President Mahama was responsible for the crash, a statement that led to his arrest and charges of publishing false news with intent to cause fear and panic. Asare has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
