Emmy Göring was the second wife of Hermann Göring, a prominent figure in Nazi Germany and a key associate of Adolf Hitler. After the fall of the Nazi regime, she sold their holiday home on Sylt in 1958, which was the only remaining private residence of her husband, who was convicted of war crimes and committed suicide in 1946.
