Engelmar Unzeitig

Engelmar Unzeitig was a German priest who became known as the 'Angel of Dachau' for his selfless service to fellow prisoners during the Holocaust. Ordained in 1939, he refused to remain silent about the atrocities he witnessed, leading to his arrest by the Gestapo. While imprisoned, he dedicated himself to caring for the sick and dying, ultimately succumbing to typhoid himself, but leaving a legacy of compassion and bravery.
