Erasto Simon

Erasto Simon is the Executive Director of the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) in Tanzania. Recently, he has been in the news for leading efforts to incorporate liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) into Tanzania's Bulk Procurement System, aiming to enhance fuel security and reduce energy costs. Simon emphasized the need for improved infrastructure, such as larger docking spaces and extended pipelines, to facilitate this transition. Under his guidance, the PBPA has also implemented structural reforms that have significantly increased the number of registered oil importers and improved fuel monitoring systems, contributing to substantial savings for the government.
