Érick Blanco

Érick Blanco is a dedicated altarero (altar maker) in Guatemala, known for his skillful craftsmanship in creating intricate altars for Semana Santa processions. He learned the art from Isabel de Jesús, known as Chavelo, a disciple of the legendary altar maker Ramiro Araújo. Blanco’s work embodies a rich tradition that combines history, religion, and artistry, with a commitment to maintaining the essence of traditional altar-making while also adapting to modern techniques.
