Erick Hernández Bolaños is a resident of Santo Domingo de Heredia who has been active in advocating for the preservation of the historic Tures Bridge. He recently filed a request with Costa Rica's Constitutional Court to suspend the planned demolition of the bridge after the Ministry of Culture and Youth declined to declare it a national heritage site, despite recognizing its historical and architectural significance. Hernández argues that while infrastructure improvements are necessary, the demolition of the bridge is unnecessary and detrimental to the cultural heritage of the area.
